Abstract

On October 2nd, University at Albany Professor Susanna Fessler joined the University Libraries for a Campus Conversations in Standish. In her talk, "Robert Hewson Pruyn: A Albany Yankee in the Tycoon’s Court", Professor Fessler discussed the life and career of the Albany native, who served as U.S. Minister to Japan from 1861-1865, as well as the challenges of research with primary documents.
