Speaker Information

Dr. L. William Kazmierczak started his position as Director of Calculus at Binghamton University in June 2014. He received a Ph.D. in mathematics in 2003 from Stevens Institute of Technology where his research was in Graph Theory, Combinatorics, and Network Vulnerability. He teaches all levels of mathematics courses from undergraduate to graduate, but he specializes in first-year calculus courses and the development of pedagogy and curriculum for greatest student success. While at Binghamton University Dr.Kazmierczak has implemented a “flipped” classroom and split the full semester Calculus I and Calculus II course into two half semesters. Consequently, DFW rates are lower, GPAs are higher, and engineering majors have stayed on schedule.
