Abstract
Recent years have witnessed a proliferation of large scale distributed systems that manage massive amounts of data at diverse geographic locations. In such systems, the overall system performance can be significantly affected by the round-trip time between computing nodes. Thus, efficiently and accurately measuring or estimating network latency is a key requirement.
