Abstract
Abstract: Emotional labor (EL) is a significant component of teachers' daily work. Duringtheir daily teaching activities, teachers experience various emotional responses. However,they do not always express their genuine emotions, but rather adopt different strategies toregulate their feelings. This process is referred to as emotional labor. Previous studies onteachers' EL have typically focused on a single aspect concerning either teachers or students.Therefore, this study synthesizes the effects of various EL strategies on both the cognitiveand emotional well-being of teachers, as well as on students' academic and emotionaldevelopment. By reviewing prior research on teachers' EL, we summarize the impact of ELon both teachers and students across different dimensions, aiming to provide a morecomprehensive understanding of its effects. This review highlights the importance ofrecognizing and addressing EL in teaching.
