Abstract
Serial killers are subjects of widespread news media coverage. News Media portrays these serial killers in a positive light instead of focusing on the facts of the case. This study explores how news media turn serial killers into celebrities by qualitatively analyzing news media articles on LexisNexis. Understanding how the media portrays serial killers in media can help prevent making serial killers into celebrities and stop revictimizing the families of the victims.
